RepoZoom Help Center
- What is RepoZoom.com?
RepoZoom.com, owned and operated by Zoom Online Auctions, Inc. of Conway, Arkansas, provides asset remarketing services to lending institutions by way of the RepoZoom.com online auction site. The goal is to increase the return on the repossessed asset for the lending institutions, to lower the debt owed by the original owners, and to provide a place for consumers to purchase used vehicles or other assets direct from lending institutions at a more competitive price than what they may find through traditional means.
- What types of assets can I find on RepoZoom.com?
RepoZoom.com auctions a variety of repossessed asset categories including cars, trucks, sports utility vehicles (SUVs), vans, power sports, watercraft, RVs/campers and equipment.
- Is an auction for a repossessed asset different from other online auctions?
Auctions for repossessed assets are no different than other online auctions with the exception that an auction item may be removed from the site at any time until the auction is actually completed with a winning bidder. The auction posting for a repossessed asset must be removed if one of two conditions is met:
- The previous owner pays in full the loan from their lending institution. By law, the previous owner has a specific timeframe in which to redeem their repossessed asset. RepoZoom.com has timed auctions so that they close after the redemption period expires, ensuring that a winning bidder is able to purchase the asset upon the close of an auction.
- The previous owner files bankruptcy prior to the auction closing with a winning bidder. By law, if the previous owner files bankruptcy before the asset is resold, the repossessed asset must be returned to the previous owner.
- How do I register for an account?
Registering for an account on RepoZoom.com is easy! Simply select the "Register to Bid" button on the Home Page to get started.
- First, you will need to read and agree to the terms in the User Agreement.
- Second, you will provide RepoZoom.com with general account information such as your name, address, email address and primary phone number.
- Third, you will select the type of account. RepoZoom.com offers two types of account subscriptions. The "Browse Only" subscription is free and allows 3 month’s worth of unlimited access to browse the inventory available at RepoZoom.com. The "1 Year Bidder's Pass" subscription is $9.95 and allows you unlimited bidding privileges for 12 months.
- If you are registering for a "Browse Only" subscription, you will be asked to create a User Name for your account. For security purposes, you will be asked to type in a security (AntiBot) code on the User Name screen.
- If you are registering for a "1 Year Bidder's Pass" subscription, you will be asked to submit your credit card information to purchase the subscription. After successful completion of your credit card transaction, you will be prompted to create a User Name for your account. For security purposes, you will be asked to type in a security (AntiBot) code on the User Name screen.
After completion of the registration process, you will receive an email notification at the email address you provided during the registration process. The email will contain your User Name and Password. You may change the Password, if desired, once you log into the site.
- What is the purpose of the "1 Year Bidder's Pass?"
The "1 Year Bidder's Pass" allows you unlimited bidding access on RepoZoom.com for twelve months. The pass helps protect both you and RepoZoom.com from insincere or fraudulent bidders. By requiring a credit card transaction to purchase the "1 Year Bidder's Pass," RepoZoom.com is able to perform a type of validation of the prospective bidder and potentially prevent someone who does not intend to complete the purchase from participating in the bidding process.
- How do I choose a User Name?
The User Name is the method by which you will log into your RepoZoom.com account, so choose a name that you will remember and like. You cannot change your User Name once registered. RepoZoom.com will accept any User Name that is not already in use by another member, contains valid characters as defined below, and is not deemed to be offensive in nature. A valid User Name must be at least 5 characters in length and may contain any combination of the following:
- Lowercase letters (a-z)
- Uppercase letters (A-Z)
- Numbers (0-9)
RepoZoom.com sets all auctions to "private" to ensure that other bidders of an auction cannot see the User Names of the bidders they are competing against.
- What happens to my credit card information after purchasing the "1 Year Bidder's
Pass?"
RepoZoom.com does not store your credit card information at any time during the purchase of the "1 Year Bidder's Pass." During the purchasing process, RepoZoom.com immediately transfers your credit card information to the credit card processor for approval. Once approved, the credit card processor returns to RepoZoom.com an authorization code that indicates approval and that you have funds to pay for the "1 Year Bidder's Pass." The authorization code does not contain your credit card information and is maintained for only 30 days after the completed transaction.

- Do I need a 1 Year Bidder's Pass to look at the RepoZoom.com inventory?
No! RepoZoom.com allows you to browse available inventory for FREE. Within the Repozoom.com website, a "1 Year Bidder's Pass" is not necessary to view the available inventory or the specific details of an asset. The "1 Year Bidder's Pass" is only required if you wish to bid on a specific auction.
- How do I find what I am looking for on RepoZoom.com?
RepoZoom.com offers two methods for locating items on our site.
- If there is something specific you are looking for, you may SEARCH for the item by typing a few descriptive key words into the search window. The site will return all assets within the RepoZoom.com inventory that contain your descriptive words. You may also access the search feature by clicking on "Auction Features" within "Your Account Features."
- If you simply want to look through the inventory, you may BROWSE the entire inventory list by selecting the "Auction List" link at the top of the home page and then selecting an asset type (i.e. car, truck, boat). You may also access the browse feature by clicking on "Auction Features" within "Your Account Features."
You may review the resulting list of assets from your search or browse in either Main View mode or Gallery View mode. The Main View provides a vertical list of all assets meeting your criteria while the Gallery View provides a horizontal list.
- When viewing my search/browse results in Main View mode I see icons within the
item description. What do those icons mean?
The icons you see within the Main View allow you to quickly gain some additional information about the auction without actually going into the auction for that item. The icons are defined as:
- The reserve has not been met for this asset
- The reserve has been met for this asset
- Can I sort my resulting search/browse results?
When in the Main View mode you can sort your inventory results by simply clicking on the column headings found at the top of the listing.
- What if I want to look at only new auctions or auctions that are closing today?
There are two ways to filter the auctions that you see based upon the timing of the auction.
- From the Home Page, you may browse the entire inventory based on auctions beginning today, auctions ending today or auctions coming soon, by clicking the corresponding button.
- Within both the Main View and the Gallery View modes, you may filter the search or browse results to allow the viewing of only the auctions that are new, current, closing today, last change (about to close) or already closed. These filters are found above the column headings of the auction lists.
- Once I locate an item that I am interested in, how do I find out more information
about the item?
To find out more information about a specific item, click on the item description to view the actual auction page. Within the auction page you will find details of the asset such as:
- Multiple interior and exterior photographs of the asset
- Video coverage with a 360 degree view of the asset
- Detailed description of the asset such as VIN number, body type, color, etc.
- Detailed damage description (if any) of the asset
- Auction status information
- Current bid price on the asset
- Indication of whether the reserve price has been met
- How do I print an auction listing or email the listing to myself or someone
else?
To print a hard copy of the auction listing or send an electronic copy to yourself or a friend, you must be within the actual auction listing.
- To PRINT, select the "Print Auction" button. You will be taken to a new page with a printer friendly version of the auction listing. Follow your normal process for printing a document to send the document for printing. You must have access to and be connected to a printer for this feature to work.
- To EMAIL, select the "Mail Auction to a Friend" button. You will be taken to a new page requesting your name and your email address, your friend's name and your friend's email address, and message information. Once complete, select "Send." The next page will provide confirmation that your auction email was sent.
- How do I save auctions I am interested in watching without having to repeat
my search for the item?
To save an auction that you want to watch and come back to later, simply add the auction to "My Zoom List". You can add items to "My Zoom List" by clicking on the "Add to My Zoom List" button within each auction. When you are ready to return to the saved auction, click on the "My Zoom List" button located on the Home Page.
- How do I bid on an item?
Anyone with a "1 Year Bidder's Pass" may place a bid on an item. You must be within the auction detail page to place a bid. Scroll to the "Bidding Section" where you will find the current bidding status. The bidding status will show you the following:
- Current Bid - Is the amount of the highest bid placed on this item
- The Next Acceptable Bid - Is the amount automatically calculated by the auction site that must be placed by the next bidder, in order to be accepted. This amount is calculated by taking the Current Bid and adding the incremental bid amount associated with that auction item. The Next Acceptable Bid amount is based upon the Current Bid and not any Proxy Bids that may have been placed.
Once you are ready to place a bid, enter the amount you wish to bid into the "Your Maximum Bid" window and hit the "Place Bid" button to submit the bid to RepoZoom.com. To ensure that you truly meant to submit a bid, RepoZoom.com will ask you to confirm the bid a second time prior to adding the bid to the auction.
Remember to bid only if you are serious and willing to purchase the item for the amount of your bid. If you are the winning bidder, you have entered into a legally binding contract to purchase the item from the lending institution that owns the asset. Before bidding, read the item description and payment & shipping terms closely. Make sure you have read and understand the User Agreement.
- Why did I receive an error message when I attempted to place my bid?
Only members with a "1 Year Bidder's Pass" subscription may place bids on RepoZoom.com. If you have a "Browse Only" subscription and attempt to place a bid on an auction, you will be notified that your account does not have permission to place a bid.
You can easily change your subscription service to purchase a "1 Year Bidder's Pass." In the "Your Account Information" section, go to "Add/Edit Your Billing and Subscription Info." Once there, select the "Change Subscription" button to process the upgrade. You will need to supply a valid credit card in order to pay for the "1 Year Bidder's Pass" subscription.
- How do I decide what to place in "Your Maximum Bid"?
All auction bidding is incremental, based upon the value of the auction item. Smaller category items will have lower bidding increments while larger category items will have higher bidding increments. There are two types of bidding allowed by RepoZoom.com:
- Standard Bidding - A Standard Bid is used if you wish to bid only up to the Next Acceptable Bid level. When using Standard Bidding, you will have to return to the auction to place another bid if someone outbids you and you wish to continue bidding on the auction item.
- Proxy Bidding - RepoZoom.com allows for Proxy Bidding to make bidding more convenient for you. A Proxy Bid is placed when you submit a bid for the maximum amount that you would be willing to pay for the auction item. By allowing you to set a maximum amount that you are willing to pay for an item, the site eliminates the need for you to re-bid every time you are outbid in an auction. When you place a Proxy Bid, you authorize RepoZoom.com to incrementally increase your auction bid each time you are outbid by another bidder, up until the point that "Your Maximum Bid" is met. RepoZoom.com will bid only as much as necessary to ensure that you remain the high bidder, or to meet the Reserve Price, up to your maximum amount. Your maximum bid is kept confidential from others until it is reached and you are outbid by another bidder. Please note that in auctions with a reserve, if "Your Maximum Bid" is at least the Reserve Price, we will automatically increase your bid to meet the reserve and all other bidding will continue from there. At the end of an auction, if you are the high bidder and the reserve has been met, you are the winner. As the winner of the auction, you will pay only the lowest possible winning bid, not necessarily your maximum bid.
- How do I know if I am the high bidder?
You will receive a "Successful Bid" message after confirming your bid, if you are the current high bidder in an auction. You may also check your bidding status on the auction detail page. If you are the high bidder, within the "Status" section of the auction detail page, you will see the following message:

You will also see your User ID and bid as the top User ID and bid within the "Bid History" of the "Status" section.
In the event that you are outbid on the item, an email will be sent to the address in your user profile indicating the new highest bid.
- What if I change my mind after placing my bid?
When you place a bid on a RepoZoom.com auction item, you are entering into a binding contract. All bids are active until an auction ends. If you are the winning bidder in an auction, you are obligated to complete the transaction. Except under special circumstances, bid retraction is not permitted. Furthermore, misuse of the bid retraction option to manipulate the bidding process is not permitted. This includes any manipulation of the bidding process to discover the maximum bid of the current high bidder or to uncover the reserve price.
Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:
- Account suspension
- Payment of fees to RepoZoom.com for any resulting damages
- What are the special circumstances where bid retraction is permitted?
Once a bid is placed on RepoZoom.com, the bidder has entered into a binding contract to purchase the item, if their bid is the winning bid at the close of the auction. Realizing that honest mistakes may occur, RepoZoom.com may allow bid retraction under special circumstances after a thorough review of the situation by a RepoZoom.com representative. RepoZoom.com must be notified of the bidding error within 12 hours of the mistake in order to consider a bid retraction.
Bidding mistakes such as typographical errors in the bid amount (i.e. adding an extra "0" to the end of your bid) will be considered for bid retraction. Each request for bid retraction will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Please understand that changing your mind is not a valid reason for a bid retraction!
To request a bid retraction, please send an email describing the situation to RepoZoom.com within 12 hours of the mistake. Use the email address located in the "Contact Us" section.
- Why did I receive an "Unsuccessful Bid" message when I placed my bid for an
auction?
There are two reasons that you would receive the "Unsuccessful Bid" message.
- Bid Amount Too Low – If your bid was not at least equal to the "Next Acceptable Bid," the bid will be rejected. You will be prompted to bid again.
- Unsuccessful Bid - – If the previous high bidder has a Proxy Bid in effect and your bid was not greater than the Proxy Bid, the bid will be rejected. You may attempt to outbid the Proxy Bid at any time by increasing your bid.
- What is a "Reserve" and what does it mean if the "Reserve" is met or not met?
A reserve is the minimum amount for which RepoZoom.com is authorized to sell an asset. The amount is set by the lending institution that owns the asset and is based on a combination of factors including the market value of the asset, its condition, etc. When the "Reserve is Met," it means that the current bid is equal to or higher than the Reserve Price. If the "Reserve is Not Met," then the current bid is less than the Reserve Price. There will only be a winning bidder in closed auctions where the "Reserve is Met."
- When I look at the Bid History of an auction why do I see where one user outbid
another user with the same bid amount?
When Proxy Bidding is in effect, it can appear as if one bidder has outbid another bidder with the same bid amount. This is normal and occurs when a bidder has a proxy bid in effect and a second bidder comes along and makes their bid at the exact same amount the current proxy bid is at. Since the proxy bid was placed earlier, that is the bid that will succeed. For the second bidder to succeed in placing a bid, they must bid higher than the proxy bid that is in effect.
- How do I win an auction on RepoZoom.com?
In order to win an auction, you must be the highest bidder and have met the reserve price set for that auction. High bidders who do not meet the reserve price will not win the auction.
- Can I have the highest bid and meet the reserve price and still not win the
auction?
Yes. There are some special circumstances where this may happen. For example, if the previous owner redeems their loan with their lending institution or if they file for bankruptcy, the auction will be pulled from RepoZoom.com and the asset will no longer be available. Also, Repozoom.com is required to obtain a minumum of 3 bids on any asset or the asset cannot be released.
- What do I do after I win an auction?
THe winning bidder in an auction will receive instructions via email for the next steps in completing the transaction.
- What are my available payment options for my winning auction?
Upon successfully winning an auction as high bidder, you will be asked to enter your credit card information. A $500 deposit will be charged to that account. This $500 deposit is subtracted from the total amount due at the close of the auction. At this time, RepoZoom.com only accepts wire transfers for the balance remaining after the $500 deposit. Wire transfers are the preferred method of payment by Repozoom.com since funds may be collected more quickly and you may pick up your new asset and its title within three days. Certain auction items may feature a financing option offered by a financial institution. Look for a link on the auction detail page.
- What happens to my credit card information after paying the $500 deposit?
RepoZoom.com does not store your credit card information at any time during the payment of the deposit. During the payment process, RepoZoom.com immediately transfers your credit card information to a credit card processor for approval. Once approved, the credit card processor returns to RepoZoom.com an authorization code that indicates approval and that you have funds available to pay the deposit amount. The authorization code does not contain your credit card information and is maintained for only 30 days after the completed transaction.
- How much time do I have to complete payment after an auction closes?
Payment is required within three business days of the close of the auction. RepoZoom.com will not release the winning item or the required paperwork until receipt of payment is confirmed.
